This is not how I expected 2026 would start out. I can count on two hands the number of times I’ve picked up my camera since January.

“I’m not a typical wedding photographer,” I said to them. “Are you sure?”

They trusted me and my style, and what we created was magic!

Sometimes growing up feels like goodbye.

I have boys. They wanted to chase frogs. They wanted to catch snakes. Writing about this amount of gross isn’t enough - I need to capture it.

My work doesn’t fit into any box labelled “bright and airy” or “dark and moody” or “vintage film.” I don’t fit into a perfectly curated aesthetic.

By day, she’s an award-winning marketing boss, but she has this incredible gig outside of that 9-5: she’s a tour guide for Brazilian families visiting Toronto and Niagara Falls. She helps them explore, navigate, and most importantly—fall in love with this corner of Canada the way she has.

The phrase “f8 and be there” has challenged me to question why I choose certain depths of field over others. So I have set out these last few months to capture context. To not allow myself to default to blur. To set my camera to f8 or higher and focus on depth, composition and storytelling.

Family photography can be a way to press pause. Not on the “perfect” family, but on the real version of yours—the one you’ll ache to remember when you look back years from now.

Photography isn’t just a job, or even just an art—it’s a love language.

What if photography is in my son’s blood? What if he gets to watch me and then he himself grows into a photographer 10 times as good as me?

National Geographic photographers are inspiring, but not just for their images. But for the ways in which they have overcome obstacles to their craft and have developed the gear we have today, especially for wildlife and nature photography.

I knew that if I was serious about truly building skill I needed to live with my camera. In my house today you’ll realize it is an almost constant fixture in our kitchen.

Creative spark is a funny thing. Sometimes it strikes hard and the vision of what you want to create is so clear it basically creates itself. But inspiration is a muscle, and like any other muscle, it needs to go through discipline in order to function at its highest potential. 

Our world is often ruled by giant box stores with no heart, which is what makes this store a breath of fresh air.

Lake Huron, Pinery Provincial park, next to no cell reception, turtles, endless birds, nature scavenger hunts, nightly campfires and a wonderful cabin. What more is there to hope for in childhood?

I love trees like anyone else who appreciates nature, but Aaron DeVos LOVES trees! Watching him and his crew work is like stepping into a ninja warrior gym except everyone has razor-sharp blades and chainsaws and at least someone is hanging from a tree with both in their hands.  

I'm honoured to have worked on something so grand. First producing the audiobook version and capturing this incredible celebration. It was the culmination of a project that was literal "years in the making.”

Before the boxes are packed, before the key is handed over, before the last light filters through an empty room—there is time to pause. To remember. To gather. To pay a quiet tribute to a home.
